Homewood Science Center was specially selected to receive an Explore Science: Earth & Space kit from NISE. 

In collaboration with NASA, the NISE Network has assembled a new set of engaging, hands-on Earth and space science experiences with connections to science, technology, and society. While we are unable to share this hands-on exploration with you in-person at the moment, we are sharing it with your virtually!

Yoga and breath are powerful tools to add to your family's routine. Families will learn the science of mindfulness while practicing yoga together. This all-ages class combines fun science themes and family movement. Weekly themes include: Bug's Life, Day at the Beach, Under the Sea, Superheroes & Fairy Tales, and more!

Homewood Science Center proudly partnered with The Cancer Support Center in creating art exploration and appreciation lessons for K-5th grade students using materials that you can find at home.

During this stay-at-home period, we hope to offer support to parents with our Parent Q & A video. In this 30 minute discussion, Kin Kong, Ph.D. shares simple parenting strategies for establishing healthy routines in response to the pandemic. 


Dr. Kong is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families, an associate professor at Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and has led Homewood Science Center's Kids' Committee since 2016.
